Why I started this site

When I was diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndrome, I wanted to create a website where I could 1) keep my friends and family up-to-date on my stem cell transplant and recovery, 2) give information about the process of bone marrow/stem cell transplantation, 3) encourage people to give the gift of life by registering as a prospective donor with a bone marrow registry, or donating to support the registration process, and 4) encourage people to become regular blood donors.  This is that website.

Below you will see my periodic postings, in reverse chronological order, and to the right you will find a number of links where your questions about blood and bone marrow donation can be answered (plus some other favorite sites of mine).  I hope you find this all helpful and interesting, and that you’ll join me on this journey through the medical minefield.
